The president elect, Barack Obama is more than an anomaly, he’s a conundrum. What makes him especially perplexing is trying to factor in His Hawaii roots.
First, there are serious questions about his citizenship. The US Constitution specifically requires the President of the United States to be a “natural born citizen.” This is understood to mean one who was born in the physical boundaries of the States. Several lawsuits have been filed challenging Obama’s citizenship. There is some contention that he was actually born in Kenya, the homeland of his father. Obama claims he as born in Hawaii (supposedly, USA) but has refused to allow his Hawaii birth certificate to be released. This has further fueled suspicions as to his citizenship. If he was born in Kenya, then he would definitely not be qualified to hold the office of president. But what if he was born in Hawaii?
There are two reasons why Obama’s claim to being born in Hawaii casts suspicion on his presidential eligibility:
1) Despite numerous emphatic requests by many interested parties, Obama has not been forthcoming with conclusive evidence that he was born in Hawaii. Was he really born in Hawaii? At this point, no one knows and there are conflicting anecdotal accounts of his birth. If he was actually born in Hawaii, it would be fairly easy to settle all speculation by presenting his Hawaii birth certificate. But Obama has refused to allow his birth certificate to be released. Why? What is he hiding? Or avoiding?
2) Even if he was born in Hawaii as he claims, he was not born in the US. The fact is, Hawaii is not a legitimate “state” of the United States. Technically, according to the standards of international law, Hawaii remains a sovereign, independent nation (foreign to the US). Therefore, even if Obama proved he was born in Hawaii, it does not mean he was born in the US.
It gets even more complicated than that when two other Hawaii controversies are factored in:
1) A case being heard in the US Supreme Court, State of Hawaii v. Office of Hawaiian Affairs, seeks to remove a cloud placed on the State of Hawaii from selling lands it is supposedly holding in trust. These are lands stolen from the Hawaiian Kingdom in 1893 and ‘fenced’ to successive ‘puppet governments’ over the years and ending up with the current so-called State of Hawaii. At no time since 1893 was there a lawful transfer of title or authority from the Hawaiian Kingdom to any other entity, making the State of Hawaii a fake state.
2) The “Akaka Bill” pending in the US Congress, seeks to set up a self-governing entity for the Native Hawaiians based on the same “ceded lands” in dispute. Again, since these “ceded lands” did not transfer to the United States, the State of Hawaii or the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, they are in essence stolen lands, and none of these purported claimants have proper jurisdiction to determine how these lands are used.
Both of these actions, with the Supreme Court and Congress, if evaluated according to the facts, point to the illegitimacy of the State of Hawaii and the legitimacy of the Hawaiian Kingdom. Meaning, Obama, if he was born in Hawaii, was born in a foreign country.
Hawaii is a lose, lose situation for Obama.
